The 2 weeks epic trip was made in Sep 2015, with my 3 best girlfriends.
We drove from the coastal capitol of Iceland - Reykjavik,
all the way in an anti-clockwise direction, and back to where we started.
Here's a rough breakdown of our itinerary -

Day 3 ATV to Solheimasandur Plane Crash Site, Skogafoss, Seljalandfoss
Day 4 Glacier Hike & Jokusarlon Glacier Lagoon
Day 5 Roadtrip to Akureryi, Selfoss & Dettifoss
Day 6 Godafoss, Myvatn Lofthellir Ice Caving
Day 7 Dalvik
Day 8 Husavik, Asbyrgi Canyon
Day 9 Drive from Husavik to Stikkish
Day 10 Stikkish to Vogar, Kirkjufellsfoss, Saxholl Volcanic Crater, Fjorhusid

It is the flagship store of a small hot dog chain which begun operations since 1937.
It has been crowned as the best hotdog in Europe,
They take coffee-roasting very seriously here.

Kex Hostel

The name of the hostel came about because the place is housed in an old biscuit factory downtown Reyjavik!
It's within walking distance to the city centre and very convenient in my opinion!
The hostel sign is not flashy so be sure to keep a lookout for the place!
We took the stairs to arrive at the door of our quaint little hostel.
The door opened to a very cosy bar/lobby area filled with weary tourists.
I really love the vintage industrial concept of the interior!

Plenty of picturesque spots in the hostel.
We were very very hungry and decided to have lunch at the
Saemundur Gastro Pub located within the hostel.
Saemundur actually refers to the sweet filling in the sandwich biscuit,
which was baked and produced in the biscuit factory in the past.
Lunch was Fried Salmon & Kale with marinated radishes.
2,250 kr.
We returned to Kex Hostel at night to find the pub bustling with activities!
I don't think i saw a bigger crowd anywhere else while we were out the entire day.
People were drinking, eating, watching the live jazz band perform,
omg yes the LIVE JAZZ BAND.
I was completely floored by the energy of the musicians,
by the attentiveness and enthusiasm of the crowd.
I just felt so alive.

and boasts a repertoire of famous patrons, including ex-president Bill Clinton!
So much history within a little hotdog stand.

The steamed sausages are served with a bun and a party of condiments;
ketchup, sweet mustard, remoulade, crisp fried onion and raw onions.
We all agreed that the combination of fried and raw onions was the winning contributing factor!

When you have chilly wind howling in your faces all the time,
a cafe across the street is like a mirage.
They take coffee-roasting very seriously here.
Move aside espresso machines.

The baron is legendary for its lobster soup, so don't miss it!

I'm not proud to say that we had our whale sampler.
I took a bite and that was it.
It wasn't mind-blowing, in fact i kinda hated the taste cos i'm very adversed to fishy smells.
So I would strongly discourage you from ordering it.
Whale meat has been mistaken as a traditional dish in Iceland when the fact is,
most Icelanders never eat them.
So commercial whale-meat hunting is catered mostly for tourists and such practices are often
cruel and unnecessary!
If only i had known :'(
